Add the Ground Effect.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground_eff...odynamics)

Or in other words, when vehicles with sources of upward propulsion are very near the ground or water surface, make the upward component of their propulsion increase substantially. This would make it easier to make planes that have to build up to their full speed instead of reaching maximum speed near instantly, and would make it more practical to build Scarlet Dawn style hovercraft instead of just thrustercraft. (At present hovercraft are essentially just thrustercraft at a low altitude with all the same advantages and disadvantages thereof, except that they're easier to hit due to remaining in the same plane as surface ships.)

RE: Add the Ground Effect.
lift is so easy to achieve in this game, that atm that is not needed to be honest

In FS it may actually be more important and make ekranoplan Wink

There is always a weak-spot if you search Hard enough.

If you fire enough AP at that shield, at some point you're going to come through.

There is no "best" I wouldn't even say there is anything universally good, Good is subjective, I find everything bad even if it's in theory good against this or that.

This is true of Neter standards, but not of all possible game configurations!
I have been playing with earthlike physics recently. Under those settings forces are a fifth what they are in Neter and drag is a tenth, so building up speed for aircraft is more useful and the super-heavy thrustercraft you see in high-end SD builds are nigh impossible. Plus everyone tends to agree that Neter needs lowered forces anyway. Adding ground effect would make hovercraft a little more practical in this setting and somewhat reduce the issue almost all planes in these conditions have of falling in the water and being unable to build up enough speed to escape.
