instead of having the cannon mesh rotate, having the whole cannon rotate would be amazing, because you could create gun mantlets that the barrel wouldnt phase thru and it couldnt glitch thru amor.

you may want to specify the "cannon barrel" so that people understand what you are talking about easily. I think it would be nice, making it even harder for your ship to shoot itself, but I think rather CPU intensive. Good idea though.

Possibly possible now, reusing the turrets-on-turrets logic--but that still would not get you collisions with the main construct (yet, at least).
