Submissions for Cold Seas CC
I'm curious if people would be interested in submitting to Cold Seas CC as I've already received a few blueprints from folks. I've decided to give it a short break now that i've released the 0.4 update, so it seems a good time to open it up to new ideas.

Cold Seas currently has 615 units, 17 factions, 2 campaigns, 9 missions. There are significant gaps in some of the faction rosters so there is a lot of room for new units. All units are based in 1950s-80s cold war technology and adhere to a certain standard of realism without being replicas.

Faction Guidelines

A shorthand guide to factions:

Superpowers:
Aspan Union (AU): USA, Sweden
People’s Republic of Dunmar (PRD): USSR, Russia
Bativian Commonwealth (BC): UK, Netherlands, Canada

Nations:
Republic of Urdem (ROU): West Germany, South Korea, France.
Democratic Republic of Urdem (DROU): East Germany, North Korea
Dominion of Ruthani (DR): Australia, South Africa
Republican Party of Terreth (RPOT): Communist China, Republican Spain
Terrethan National Congress (TNC): Kuomintang and Taiwan
Caracal (CR): Iraq, Algeria
Shotha (GRS): Pakistan, Iran
Federal Republic of Slovetsk (FRS): Yugoslavia, Albania, Czechoslovakia
Saamsa (RS): Iceland, Norway
Democratic Republic of Dhenni (DRD): Vietnam, Ethiopia

Non-States:
Karenni Independence Front (KIF): Peshmerga, Houthis
Ruthani Liberation Army (RLA): Umkhonto we Sizwe, MPLA
Sutmari Autonomous Region (SAR): Abkhazia, South Ossetia
Steppe Warlords (TSW): 1930s chinese warlords.

Submission Guidelines
  • 2:1 scale for Land and Air units, 1:1 scale for ships.
  • Use technology appropriate to the period (no warping hover tanks pls)
  • No Cram unless using bomb chutes, APS is nearly always better.
  • Practicality: doesn't matter how pretty it looks if it can't move, shoot or stay upright.
  • i'll let anything in if you can justify it with a real-world equivalent
  • Make sure your vehicle makes sense on a tactical level: eg. does your artillery only have 600m range?

I won't reject anything out of hand, most things can fit in the guidelines with a few minor modifications.

What I really need
I'm not after exact replicas, but I'd love designs inspired by the following:
  • US Submarines (eg. Los Angales Class)
  • US Bombers (eg. B-1B)
  • US utility aircraft, EAW aircraft, observation planes etc. (eg. C-130, OV-10 Bronco)
  • US Supercarriers (Eg. Nimitz Class)
  • USSR Battlecruisers and Cruisers (Eg. Kirov Class, Kresta Class, Stalingrad Class)
  • USSR Bombers (Eg Tu-4, Tu-95)
  • British support AFVs (Eg. Abbott Artillery)
  • British Fighters (Eg. SEPECAT jaguar, Panavia Tornado)
  • British Bombers (Eg. Canberra)
  • British Ships (Any really, I only have one aircraft carrier finished)
  • British Subs (Again, any will do)
  • Czech, Polish, other NSES AFVs (Eg. OT-64 SKOT)
  • Chinese ships (Eg LUDA Destroyer)
  • Chinese aircraft (eg. nanchang Q-5)

Other areas are already more fleshed out, but of course I will have a look at any designs that are really exceptional or better than existing units.

Contact me here or mirkytannit@gmail.com if you'd prefer

cheers!

RE: Submissions for Cold Seas CC
Hello, i have 2 ( technically 4 ) vehicles that i want to submit.

Sbp III is a panzer 3 equivalent used by the Urdem during the great war, i expect it
to be used in the first civil war campaign and by other low tech factions.
It is avaible in 2 versions, one with a high velocity 50mm ( 100mm in game) cannon
and another with a low velocity 75mm ( 150mm in game) cannon

The other is the LT-35 and LT-47 inspired by italian tankettes (L-3/35M being the more influential)
The LT-35 is armed with a double 22mm (45mm in game ) autocannon in a foward facing casemate
The LT-47 is a Sbp III rip off/Inspired vehicle ( depending if it was created by a urdemic ally or not ) that uses the LT-35 hull, but due to having less armor they decided to modify the urdenic 50mm gun to create their own 55mm ( 110mm in game ) gun.

Note: i decided to leave the detection up to you since i dont understand anything about it.

are these already double the size of what they would be in reality???
Those are tiny Big Grin

There is always a weak-spot if you search Hard enough.

If you fire enough AP at that shield, at some point you're going to come through.

There is no "best" I wouldn't even say there is anything universally good, Good is subjective, I find everything bad even if it's in theory good against this or that.

Thanks man these are great! consider them added to the 0.5 update.

I think they're a believable up-gunned light tank similar to the VK 16.02 Leopard in terms of scale.

For future reference, all detections are pretty vanilla except autodetect is on 0.1 (this allows vehicles to automatically face the enemy with no accuracy without tracking). I'll most likely be adding a simple visual camera 90.

Also those LT series vehicles would make a PERFECT addition to the Great War Era vehicles of Slovetsk (the lore I have already written, but not added, states that Slovetsk was Urdem's fascist ally, similar to Italy, Hungary, Romania etc.). You've basically finalised my headcanon that in the Great War Slovetsk mostly fielded tankettes, but later on started copying Urdemi design.

They're somewhere between a pz ii and iii by my reckoning, which remember were tiny baby tanks.

RE: Submissions for Cold Seas CC
Well, i'm back, and with more goodies
I made a sherman inspired series of vehicles and some Bootleg Pz4s
due to high number of vehicles, i will be very brief
Modelle 10 E1 = M3 Lee (but the turret is a 45mm cannon), hull used for other tanks.
Modelle 11 E1 = Good ol' Sherman, has a commander variant.
Modelle 11 E2 = Firefly/76mm sherman ( but it has a 85mm gun instead)
Modelle 11 E3 = Jumbo, very strong front armor but side armor is the same
Modelle 11 "Cervanis" = Super Sherman, someone tried to turn a ww2 tank into a main battle tank, while it has repair capabilities, good suspension, and a good 105mm gun, it has very low armor and its age is showing,
Modelle 17 E1 = Priest, 105mm fixed gun artillery with the Modelle 11 hull

Spb-IV = Vannila Pzr4, equiped with a low velocity 75mm gun and a double 20mm autocannon ( 45mm ingame )
Spb-IV F = Has slightly better suspesion and a high velocity 75mm gun
