Yeah. you just seize (or make) one means of production and then sink the rest.. and then you can sell high.

Anyway, this seems really nice. I love what you're proposing here. A few questions though;
Would each faction have its own currency with its own exchange rate? That would be interesting.
Would you eventually be able to manufacture ammunition with more modern techniques?

oo that would open to possibilities like inflation which could lead to a great depression

No I don't think currencies will change in value- there will be a universal "gold standard"- like the good old days.

The big question IMO is if you will be able to mine and mint gold coins yourself or if you can just acquire them through trading.

Yeah you'll come across gold deposits- and some areas of the world will be rich with gold- but also rich with pirates and other guilds weighing in.
