[2.02] Getting launched in to space!
Hi Guys,

I've encountered an issue where, upon a few seconds of fire, my ship appears to either teleport or move incredibly quickly to a new location a very long distance away. before now this has always resulted in a crash, I tried to recreate the error a few more times and eventually ended up about 200km above sea level, with no crash.

As the ship was falling, I left it to descend and get back level in the atmosphere. This happened without incident and I held it there for a few minutes, then tested firing again. Takes a few seconds but the game crashed right after a rather strange kaleidoscope of textures all over the screen.

It doesn't seem to be linked to any particular gun firing, all shots had been fired and I'm not sure most had landed.

Screenshots and crash reports below:

Is it possibble that you've been shot with graviton rams?

Out of curiosity and without knowledge I checked output_log.txt - there are a lot of unknowns and invalids.
At the end there are some thing which seems to me pathing errors - and the error you've experineced is wrong pathing (aka going to space).

Would you care to attach your unit blueprint, too?
While checking file integrity in steam?
That would make the devs happy.

RE: [2.02] Getting launched in to space!
Thank you for looking in to it. I switched systems off until it stopped behaving in such a way and found it to be the adv. cannons that fired smoke shells, there were around 30 of them inside the ship that plopped out single segment smoke canisters using low power railguns.
I'm guessing the increased battery capacity change a little while back also increased the rail draw on these. they were dotted about in all kinds of places so I never pinpointed the exact one, they were however all scripted to go off together at intervals so it may have been multiple shells causing the issue.
I've just removed them, and I'll probably go with laser abs shields instead since its less cheese.

You mean the smoke generation by an inner cannon did this? :O

Not sure, it coincided with the smoke cannons firing, but didn't happen every time they fired.
The vehicle is 115k+ blocks and can get pretty laggy when everything is firing, the smoke fires all the time there is an enemy present and when nothing else was shooting it seemed pretty stable, only occured when there was a lot going on and smoke was being deployed by the cannons.
