Excessive Complexity...?
Ive never understood the words 'due to excessive complexity' on an APS cannon... Can someone please understand that term for me?

Basically, it means that autoloaders and possibly coolers have diminishing returns, the idea being that you've made such a convoluted setup that it's not very efficient. Designed to at least make it harder to make 500 milimeter guns that fire nine billion rounds per second.

So is it by any means avoidable, or is it unavoidable when you increase the firing speed? (RPM)

I tried making a 1200 RPM CIWS turret, since ive never gone so deep into CIWS (and never got them working efficiently enough) so this time I wanted to really dig deep into the subject. Neither have I tried using APS with super high firing rates. And 500mm miniguns are something that I am so disgusted by in this game. I think its a very cheap way for someone to just get unbeatable. (Not literally, but what I mean is that its very cheaty.)

I know that its quiet challenging to make a 500mm minigun in any reasonably safe way, but the steel striders are the coolest, and most hatred faction for me. I like this game when it comes to reasonable battles, but when ridicoulus weapons gets involved, im out.

Ive built one 500mm Minigun ever, for testing purposes. And sure it's fun to see the strenth, but its just too ridiculus for me to use. My own faction 'Squirrel'Zed' (Thinking of changing it to 'Squixxel'), is based on realistic weapons and design features. And without excessive use of shields for example. Me personally, I would like the game a bit more if the possibility to make 500mm miniguns of dooms were extremely restricted (that would say, converting the miniguns to autocannons), and making them way more architecturaly difficult. Or just completly impossible.

Bah, hate 500mm dakka cannons...

As I understand it, it's an exponential curve, so if you have, say, four autoloaders, it's not a big deal, but if you have 40, it starts to become a problem.

The thing that really makes spam cannons possible is how simple it is to add enough coolers that you drop the CD to something absurd.

Still hatred by me... If I could, I would remove them from the game. But I guess they add a slight bit more mix of weapons and what nut.

Maybe forgotten shores will be like that- more realistic, less spam guns, no shields so you can actually use pendepth shells decently, and making aircraft more brittle but able to fly much higher.

Yeah. Mainly I only use Nether because I just aren't immersed into other worlds.
