[BP Dump] Serpentine Republic [NEW Thresher Cargo Ship]
Welcome to the official BP thread of my faction. These aren't used in my campaign fleet unless I really need them. They are mostly modern in terms of appearance, with a little bit of futuristic Star Wars-esque styling as well as older WW1 influences in some ships, and are the equivelant of the SS in a possible CC I may be making, something which I had in mind long before creating a forum account, although my last attempt failed miserably.
Lore: A former trade colony of the Steel Empire, what is now known as the republic began as a large mining and trading colony focused on sustaining the Steel Empire's vast economy. However, this was not to last. The betrayal of the Lightning Hoods cut the mining colonies of western Neter off from the Empire, and after the fragmentation of the empire, the colonies were forgotten in the mad scramble for power and what was left of the crumbling empire. Unknown to almost all of Neter, the Republic declared itself as independent of the Steel Empire and struck a hasty alliance with the Deepwater Guard. Gathering together what little millitary force it had, the Republic was still unable to hold off attacks from the Lightning Hoods, but the intervention from the Deepwater Guard and shoclingly the Gray Talons stopped that. The construction of the first "Venator" class heavy cruiser as a capital vessel of huge power was enough of a deterrant for the hoods, and the republic now stands as a strong faction of former merchants, miners and traders, still following the old ways of trade, but now as a powerful, independant force with power recognized throughout Neter

RE: [BP Dump] Un-named faction millitary forces
The cram turrets are exposed, and the lack of a bridge makes it a bit less good looking, but nice hull.

It's not finished yet. I am adding a bridge and armour around the turret. It was just a hint at a half-finished build to give people a rough idea what the vehicles look like, not an actual finished ship.

Liitle progress update. Venator is almost done, should be up today or more likely tomorrow. Converted the secondaries into AA. Performs well enough damage wise to be an effective capital vessel, but may float quite low in the water.

Venator Attack Cruiser
[Image: attachment.php?aid=41675]
Lore: Getting a little but rusty now, but the venator heavy cruiser is still a resplendant sight, it's bellowing engines propelling it across the seas just as quick as they did forty years ago. The first true naval capital ship developed, the Venator remains a firm favourite despite competition from the Imperial-class heavy destroyers, well-liked for it's enormous guns and comfortable cabin.

Info: Big cruiser. Has CRAMs. Decent AA

Armament: 8 1616mm inertial HE CRAM turrets
12 36mm AA fragment turrets
6 EMP missiles

Defences: Reflect shielding along sides, front and back.
Regularly deploys sonar buoys to distract torpedos
Missile interceptor system added
Very thick hull armouring
Sides coated with ERA

Enjoy guys. I hope this turns out OK.

RE: [BP Dump] Un-named faction [NEW Venator heavy cruiser]
That is a looker friend. I did do some battle testing, and I was going to suggest some lighter AC's in place of some of the CRAMS, because it couldn't hit my little boat, but those AA guns are quite effective against boats actually..

I would suggest maybe some heavier armor around the CRAMs to match that of the hull however, because they were all gone within 30 seconds.. and maybe make some of the missiles frags to take out smaller targets.. but I mean hey, what can you do, its a little boat..

pretty darn cool sir.

sorry this is a bad picture, but all the Venators CRAMS are down and 2 of the AAs before it hit me.. the AA on the other side poked some good holes in me boat though

I looked over the venator, and found out the reason for the turrets getting knocked out. The turrets were placed on wood to make the Local Weapon Controller resistant to EMP damage, which also made the turrets very easy to knock off with frag rounds, which is what your ship was using. The detection systems also didn't have enough power which explains the CRAM cannons missing your ship. I will update the blueprint with these issues fixed.
BP updated. I hope it works better now.

EDIT: Also has a second missile silo now to deal more damage to small fast targets instead of relying on lucky EMP shots and the AA.

Ember gun-boat
[Image: attachment.php?aid=41570]
Lore: The ember is used for just about everything, from combat to escorting cargo fleets to patrolling borders. It's ability to target almost any enemy vessel makes it a popular choice among new crewmen, and it's small size often allows it to evade long-range bombardment.

Notes: Relatively large patrolboat. Can hit basically any target although has trouble with subs

Armament: 4 8 block torpedos.
1 Venator secondary used as a main gun
8 weak 3 block missiles.

Defences: Shields and luck.

RE: [BP Dump] Un-named faction [NEW Ember Gunboat]
Bumping the thread for today. What do you want to see next? A fighter plane or a small ship of some sort?

Please check out my BP thread!
How to win neter. Step 1: Get that godly battleship to spawn inside a mountain. Step 2: Steal it.
I reply to people way too much.

RE: [BP Dump] Un-named faction [NEW Ember Gunboat]
Really cool units so far, I like the Venator the most!

AH one more thing, I was going around the forum and saw you posted a thread about what units we think are the strongest in Neter, I was done writing my answer but it told me the thread was not existing anymore so I could not reply. Here it is if you are interested. Putting in as if it was code just to not clutter your faction thread.

Code:
Personally speaking, I usually rank the strongest Neter designs by considering how hard their weapons are to counter and how solid their active/passive defences are, also considering the fact I don't use HEAT or PACs in my own units when playing the campaign.

-the new SS Thyr is basically a Valiant that's twice as big, has 4 times its fire rate but also has missiles, a better LAMS, torpedoes and better shielding. It's an absulutely devastating foe to fight if you don't know how to beat it. Not to mention it does not get cut in half by turret explosions

-the GT kobold is basically the same deal as the Thyr, but Flying and brought to ludicrous extremes, wich makes it hilarious and spooky at the same time. It's 8k blocks but it's a very big thrustercraft and that's for it's basically a mass of 8m clips and autoloaders that flies and shoots 1° inertial frag 500mm 8m long shells coupled with timed HE. It can basically erase you from the battlefield in mere seconds if you don't have good shielding or are nimble enough to avoid barrages so hige to make the Whole thrustercraft go backwards by a hundred meters.

-The LH Hypathos is one of the most Laser DPS intensive units you can find in the campaign. it's got decent armor, is very nimble and flies somewhat erratically, usually making it survive at least 30 seconds, more than enough for it to melt whatever it fires at unless said choosen target has very strng armor, smoke, laser shields or all 3 at once

-The new GT Warlord got overhauled recently and the new version just got live. I've spent a week with the help of Neekap to bring it back to the grave (performance wise) and the result is terrifying, especially for someone like me that does not use HEAT or PAC of any kind when playing the campaign. It now has the biggest Impact PAC array of any Neter vehicle (around 900 tubes, overclocked at 3) and it can basically erase fighters completely and maim anything that does not have good armor in a few salvos. This is in combination with a drastically improved LAMS making it negate even Thunderclap volleys Worth of CRAM, laser shields granting it very good protection against lasers and probably thr best butterfly shielding on neter to protect it from inertial frag at the front

-The SD Meteor is the result of me trying to achieve the non-plus-ultra when it comes to the combination of active/passive defences, I didn't expect to get much out of such an exotic hull but I even had to nerf it once complete as it was overperforming way too much, even for the 80FP godly unit of the Scarlet dawn. It can relatively easily get taken down by well organized flanking but its frontal protection is simply absurd. It can negate basically all in-game weapons but PAC at a rate of around 90% or higher from the front, to the point where even the Thyr struggles to get shells thru, and it fires 9 high velocity 500mm HEAT shells at a time in 270RPM bursts. Combine this with the most accurate laser system on Neter and a humongous missile array (60 12 block missiles fired in 0.05 stagger bursts) and you get something that can shrug off most neter units without even going under 99% health

-The SS Novgord is a very unusual SS unit but its missile array is one of the biggest and it even competes with the one on the Meteor in terms of size. The missiles are laser guided and they won't be swayed by any sort od decoy in the slightest, making it extremely punishing against units not prepared to fight it. Its subspawns also hover around it all the time healing the very tanky main body aswell, making a fight with this unit an andurance struggle

-The SS Black current is the biggest submarine in Neter and it boasts the biggest missile system out of everything the campaign has to offer, wich can truly be devastating on slow targets but is also very capable at taking down airplanes. it can be a struggle to fully negate such a system and altough it has no torpedo defence systems or any good shielding to speak of its sheer size makes it fearsome.

I do not apply murder to the vehicle, the murder has the vehicle built around it! -ARCAGNELL0
